Hikes & Classes

We are proud to offer Outdoor Education programs to help residents get in touch with their natural environment! The programs are aimed at teaching our community about their natural habitat including native plants and animals and the many benefits they provide us. Fun for all ages! #GetWild


Must pre-register for all hikes. Limited to 10 people for social distancing purposes. Please come prepared with a mask, sturdy hiking shoes, hat, water, sunscreen, and binoculars. Hikes and classes subject to cancellation in the event of rain, strong winds or unhealthy air quality.

Hill Fire

2-Year Anniversary Fire Hike

Unfortunately, this hike has been canceled due to forecasted rain.

Camarillo Grove Park
Come see the regrowth of the trail at Camarillo Grove Park since the Hill Fire on November 8, 2018. Learn about what plants grew back and help us take photos for our monitoring project. Free. Register >

Birds of Fall Hike

Saturday, November 21, 9-11am
Mission Oaks Park
The parks are alive with bird activity. Migration is in full swing. Over 100 kinds of birds can be found in our area. Come to Mission Oaks and explore the birds in this area and compare to those we saw at Camarillo Grove. Free. Register >


Bird Safari Hike

“A-well-a don’t you know about the bird? Well, everybody knows that the bird is a word, A-well-a-bird, bird, b-bird’s a word.” Learn more than “birds a word” in this beginners hike about what to look and listen for while bird watching. Free. Register >

Starting Right for 2021

While some may wait until New Years Day to kick off healthy habits, get ahead of the year and join us on this quick hike to reflect the past year and set goals for the next. Free. Register >


Turkey Treasures

Tuesday, November 17, 2-4pm
Camarillo Grove Park (Nature Center)
You’ll be stuffed with turkey crafts after this class! We’ll make a collaborative Thankful Tree to share the things we appreciate. Free. Register >


Santa’s Sparkly Succulents

Wednesday, December 2, 1-3pm
Camarillo Grove Park (Nature Center)
‘Tis the season to be…. sparkly! In this class we’ll put together succulent arrangements that can be created as a gift from the heart. They’ll have some added shimmer and holiday cheer. Free. Register >
